Following a Media Matters exposé on antisemitic content on the platform formerly known as Twitter, advertisers suspended business with X, prompting CEO Linda Yaccarino of X Corp to encourage workers to identify alternative revenue streams during a hurriedly called all-hands meeting on Monday.
Yaccarino made his remarks soon after X filed a defamation lawsuit against the media watchdog organization on Monday, claiming that the article contained contrived material and was intended to discredit X. The owner of X, Elon Musk, was not present during the meeting.
Elon Musk’s X Corp filed a lawsuit accusing Media Matters of “maliciously” trying to drive away advertisers from the social media platform by reporting that ads for Apple and Oracle were running next to pro-Nazi content https://t.co/oWqdJDzpsW

Yaccarino said,
“Some customers have still paused their investments because of some misleading or manipulated information in an article, But the data tells the real story and I want to be extremely clear about our efforts, and talk about the most important thing that we’ve been doing—and that’s the most important thing—about fighting anti semitism and discrimination. There’s no place for it anywhere on this platform, anywhere in the world, and we’re doing our best to keep fighting it at X.”
